Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular California Beach
A chopper soaring above a well-attended southern California coastline suddenly started spinning wildly, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings shared on the internet show the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department said the helicopter was connected to an regular “Cars with Copters” fundraising event planned for Sunday.
