Prince Wales to Attend Cop30 in Brazil
The Prince of Wales plans to attend the important Cop30 in the South American nation next month, but the PM's participation is still to be determined.

Climate Experts Welcome Royal Attendance
Climate specialists applauded the prince's involvement. A sustainability expert commented that it would boost what is likely to be a challenging meeting, where global agreement on updated goals for cutting climate pollutants is necessary.
"Does the Prince's presence at the summit a publicity move? Yes. But that doesn't mean it's a bad idea," she commented. "Cop has long been as much about what's termed 'optics' as it is about talks. Prince William's announcement will almost certainly inspire other delegates to commit, and will draw global media."
"I suspect HRH understands clearly that by showing up, he'll draw countless of eyes to the summit. In an era when environmental effects are increasing, but press attention is falling, any effort that raises awareness should be celebrated."
Monarch's Presence at Past Cops
King Charles has been present at previous Cops, but is not be going in the upcoming event.
Support from Climate Organizations
A leader from a climate research unit said: "All hands on deck – and any high-profile figure like the Prince of Wales, there supporting make the case for the complex task that is required, is likely a beneficial move."
"The monarch] was in his previous role when he attended Cop26 and pitched in to galvanise discussions. I would argue it necessarily requires both of them to go."
PM's Decision Still Uncertain
The British prime minister has not confirmed whether they will attend the meeting, to which every world leaders are asked, with scores planning to join. He was widely condemned by prominent environmental voices for showing indecision on the commitment in recent weeks.
"International representatives need to be in Belém for Cop30. Attendance is not a courtesy, it is a measure of commitment. This is the moment to lock in enhanced country pledges and the funding to deliver them, especially for adaptation" to the impacts of the global warming.
"The world is observing, and posterity will note who participated."
